Leon Valere
Valere (a.k.a. "Impact Leon")
Known through-out the land as "Impact Leon". Leon is one of the most famous and powerful Magi to come out of Argos and was personally raised and trained by Lebon Derfla himself. Leon is extremely skilled in Impact Manus, a form of Destruction Manus. Leon has lived a very harsh life. His family were the royal guards of the Laitore family, the ruling family of Tressant, for generations before being violently wiped out during a coup d'etat staged by the Bastille family. The Valere family was framed responsible. Leon alongside his sister, Charlotte Valere and the prince of the Laitore family, Midas Laitore were the only survivors of the massacre. They were found and protected by Vulcan Hearst, who smuggled them safely out of Vildrose and into Argos where they would be trained to be Magi.
Leon grew up very close to the Hearst family with both Midas Laitore and Castor Hearst being like brothers to him. Over the years Leon displayed an incredible skill in his manus and quickly became one of the best pupils Lebon Derfla had ever had. His skill was only rivaled by Midas Laitore with his explosive manus. Lebon was the proudest he could have ever been. As time went on around the age of 17, Leon developed a romantic interest in Marie that she reciprocated. The two were all but sworn together.
During this time something happened to Midas that led to a great falling out between him, Leon, and Lebon. Midas nearly killed a fellow magi and fled the College. Leon, Castor, and Midas had all been best friends since they were children and this falling out affected them all harshly. Leon continued his training but often left for extended periods of time to hunt or seek out any word of Midas, often coming back with no information. Around this time Leon became good friends with a man named Laurence Dumonte. Laurence was similar to Midas in personality and he soon found himself great friends with both Castor and Leon.
Leon had trouble getting as close to others as he had once done and his relationship with Marie became strained. They soon called off any plans to marry and began to lead separate lives.
Eventually Leon became known as one of the strongest Magi in Terresant and quickly grew a reputation for his brutal efficiency in combat and strategic thinking. At the height of his praise and when he felt he could not learn much more Laurence's wife gave birth to Damian Dumonte and Leon was named his godfather. Leon was honored and stayed close to the family in Argos. Around the age of 23 he claimed his Right of Respite and temporarily left the College's service. He decided that he would find a unique Mythic Artifact and travel the countries in freedom. While doing this he could also continue his search for Midas.
Upon hearing of Laurence's death Leon quickly heads back towards Argos to visit and take care of his god-son Damian Dumonte. While on his way back he discovers and rescues Lucas Gascoigne near a small burned down cottage just a days distance from Argos.

History
After the death of Damian's father and mother (Laurence and Addeline) Leon adopted and took Damian under his wing. Promising to train and provide for him as Laurence would've wanted.
Relationship Reasoning
Leon was best friends with Laurence and was made his Godfather. Leon wants to ensure that Damian is strong and guided properly through life and will be able to provide for himself and others. As well as assist in the goals of the Colleges
