Cevin Knottman

Dr Cevin Knottman was an important academic figure in the 27th century.

Early Life

Cevin was the youngest of the three children of Dahlia Grumman-Knottman and Price Knottman-Grumman. He was quieter than his sibilings but unlike them showed an affection for academia.   Cevin Knottman went on to attend Cydonia College on Mars and studied economics. He proved to be an excellent student and graduated near the top of his class. He remained at Cydonia College and pursued a doctorate there.

Academic Career

Rupal College

Cevin took up a teaching position at the prestigious Ruplal College in 2590.   In 2594, he began a major collaboration effort with the Gannid college Vannard Gaur, an effort later expanded to other foreign civilizations like the Mor-Du, Rorn and Ekuneri.

The Lensherr School for the Psi-Active

Cevin was approached by his brother Finn Knottman in 2605 to develop the project of the first school for Psionics in the Terran Republic. Initially reluctant to engage with such a controversial topic, he eventually founded The Lensherr School for the Psionically Active in 2610, with the help of House Solarin.

Valtanism

Dr Cevin Knottman converted to Valtanism at college and in 2595 formally joined the Mainstream faction. This was frequently a source of tension between him and his father, a staunch secularist. He led large fundraising efforts and attended many conferences.   His made numerous speeches throughout his life emphasizing Valtanism and faith in a more general sense as a private and personal thing, often comparing it to "one's garden". He advocated for faith and politics to be kept seperate.

Marriage

Cevin met Camilla Navarro while at university in Cydonia City. The two were close for a time, until Cevin left Mars, which some people suspect is due to his father's role in the Sondeheim Coup. Years later, in 2600, the two reconnected and later married in 2605. They had a daughter, Aliyah, in 2600.
