Wildforge
The Wildforge is a holy site for both Eysus, The Sole Gardener and Girus, The All Forger.
The Wildforge was built sometime around The Elven Exodus as elves from Taurina fled west towards Lor Anoch. However, some elves stopped at the base of The Auberain Peaks, encountering a small Dwarvern settlement that offered them sanctuary.
Over time, the smiths of the dwarves, and the druids of the elves mixed. Smiths become druids, druids became smiths, all working in harmony, mixing their worship of both their traditional gods. A sanctuary was built up, a ever burning grand forge made of Darkwood and enchanted to make its fireproof nature instead burn forever, never destroying the logs but keeping the bolstering heat of the forge going for eternity.
The Wildforge is primarily dwarves and elves, however it has become a holy site for many travelling pilgrims or both religions, looking to expand their understanding of how the two deities interact in this unique place. The wildforge is also home to many Wood Giants who live along the outskirts of the community mostly among the Eysus worshippers. Occasionally a Fire Giant will make their way up through the extensive cave tunnels below the mountains and arrive at the forges underground citadel, having heard rumours of the master craftsmanship and unique skills used by the wildforgers, wishing to join their peaceful sanctuary.
The Wildforge is protected by the Green and Bronze Knights. A order of warriors, priests, and other servants who have passed the necessary training and trials to be awarded the title of Sir or Dame. Green Knights focusing on the worship of Eysus and protection of the more natural elements, and Bronze Knights focusing on the worship of Girus and the industrialised, crafting elements of the society.
The government of the Wildforge is made up of a council of elders. To be appointed to this council you must be elected in after a previous council members death or abdication. You must also hold the rank of Guardian of the Wildforge.
A Guardian of the Wildforge is the highest rank a member can hold without being on the council. The rank is only given to those that have served for over 100 years (or a time more fitting if they are not as long lived as Elves or Dwarves) as a Green or Bronze Knight, or has performed a great act of heroism earning them immense praise.
