Arthur Baird
Arthur Baird was the co-founder of The Bitter Ring.
Arthur was born in Solva, The Third to a regular family. He had a standard education and upbringing, eventually joining the Military of The Dawn when he turned 18.
Arthur served for many years, eventually befriending a young Zoarack Half-Jaw. The two became close friends and over time became disillusioned with the army and the way they treat their soldiers.
The two decided to make their own mercenary company, The Bitter Ring, and struck out looking to gain fortune. The company started small, and took several years to grow beyond a dozen soldiers, but business was good enough to survive and travel. Arthur however wanted a more stable life, and so after finding out he was due to be a father, he left the company and settled down in Cypren, Anhalo.
After the birth of his daughter Layla, the Baird family had a fairly stable life, Arthur signing on as a guard for shipping company, his wife staying home to raise their daughter. Soon though the family would break up, a plague that struck the city caused the Arthur and his wife. He left in a will a letter to Zoarack and a fund for Layla, knowing his old friend would ensure his daughter's safety.
