Anhalo, The Second

Anhalo, The Second is known all across Orchellia as the place to be when it comes to entertainment and intrigue.
Famous for its beautiful beaches and the world's largest collection of theatres and opera houses, Anhalo has become the go to destination for budding starlets looking to strike fame or for rich nobles looking for a summer getaway.
The duchy was the first land expansion made by Ennius Juliant I. Juliant reached out to those who had claimed dominion of the lands to his east, asking them to join his new nation of Crinalas. The families and organisations refused to fall under Juliant's nation but agreed to trade and a shared community. Soon after Juliant offered the same to those in the lands of now Solva, The Third, and with them joining the alliance the trio of nations soon became a force to be reckoned with in northern Elentaria.
Over the next 800 years the duchy soon fell into its role as second in the Empire. Falling in line under the Juliant rule and becoming a beacon of the Empire. The duchy has become one of the most modern places in the entire Dawn Empire due to the ruling family taking a backseat to new money and influence. Around 550PS the ducal family dismantled the county system used by much of the Empire and instead allowed old nobility and new money business to buy and sell land amongst each other while all still serving the ducal family. This has put a much larger influence on cities and large towns as owning or ruling one is the new equivalent of nobility, many cities have democratic mayoral elections and so these positions are hard fought for. There are still a few members of the aristocracy who use their noble titles but for many it is seen as gauche.
The current Duchess is Emelia Burgio who works along side the Governors of Anhalo.
The crest of Anhalo is a bunch of grapes on a red field.
