Anhalo Investigators

The Anhalo Investigators are a branch of the regular Anhalo City Guards. The Investigators specialise in detective work and protection, taking both private contracts and working for the Council of Governors.

The Investigators were formed not long after the disillusionment of the aristocracy, as a way to bolster the guard forces and ensure the Duchy wasn't flooded with former nobility hiring mercenaries. The nobility was recommended to hire from the Investigators if they needed additional protection, ensuring their safety but also ensuring nobility didn't suddenly each have their own private armies.

The Investigators have continued in this way for many years, serving both the public and private, and receiving funding from both. This has made he investigators exceedingly powerful within Anhalo and famous around the world.

Each city and town in Anhalo holds a branch of the Investigators, each ran by a Captain who in turn report to the Commissioner in Cypren who is responsible for running the entire operation. Each Captain and the Commissioner is elected from within the ranks of the Investigators.
