Layla Baird
Layla Baird is a member of The Abnormals and a somewhat reliable seer.
Layla is the daughter of Arthur Baird and eventual adoptive daughter of Zoarack Half-Jaw.
Layla was born in Cypren in 761PS and spent the majority of her life there. Layla had a fairly standard upbringing for the first few years of her life but tragedy struck at the age of three as both her parents passed away from a plague. Placed in an orphanage by Zoarack, Layla spent the next decade as a regular orphan of Cypren, bouncing between orphanages and schools.
Layla would begin to see visions of the future when she turned 11 years old. At first small things, what was for dinner the next day, a friend tripping and falling, the moment the rain would start. Over the next five years Layla's powers would develop, something she would discuss with Zoarack in extensive letters and dialogues whenever he was in town.
Layla struck out on her own at the age of 16, using her precognition to gamble her way to earn enough money for a small apartment within the city. She would continue to live and see the future, preferring the isolation as it lessened her visions. At the age of twenty she would see visions of what would change her life, visions of Zoarack being killed by The Abnormals, visions of a plague, the destruction of land she didn't recognise. These visions came in dribs and drabs over the next three years until the fateful day came that she met the Abnormals and the future was set in motion.
Layla joined the Abnormals, to the chagrin of some of the members, and set off with them on The Delusions of Grandeur.
