The Wildrim Islands

A Series of Islands off the Western Coast of Auldsod. Nestled in the Merchant's Sea. Its population is ancient and isolated. Most don't even speak Common instead speaking a tongue native to those islands only. They are steeped in magic and are said to use a kind of Rune Song to channel their magics.

Mostly Elves, Half Elves, and Humans.

Government

There is no set system of government to speak of. The villages all look to the elder of the village to make decisions in a kind of Shamanistic society. The Elders are usually the most gifted at magic as well.

Defences

Before the War of Independence, The Elder Isle marked the Wildrim Islands as a protected ecosystem and important historical place and was thus under the protection of the government for the long time. After independence no outside system of defense has been in place. However, The thought of attacking an island whose entire population is adept at magic would be a fool hardy one at best.

Industry & Trade

They are mostly self sustaining society. They use their livestock and grains and fish for their own survival. But They are open to trading with outsiders and are known to produce fine clothes and cloaks purchased by wealthy outsiders.

History

The First Elves (Known as Eladrin) emerged from a Fey Crossing locate somewhere on the Islands. Some broke off and went on to explore the main land. However most of them stayed on the islands and established societies that have been cultivating and thriving ever since.

Architecture

Mostly Clay or stone buildings with Thatched roofs and thick red square doors. Some statues and monuments still remain on parts of the island in ruins and ancient places

Geography

Dense forests and mountain ranges dot the landscape of the inland sections. There are plains and Marsh lands closer to the coast.

Natural Resources

Wood from Forests, Grain from crops, livestock and fish usually used to self sustain the population. But sometimes traded with outsiders along with various textiles.
