Session 12 - When Last We Met - 11/1/22
General Summary
When last we met, the party was at the Hopeful Harbor and bartered passage to the Wildrim Islands with a sefaring mercenary named Hadley "The Liar" Hayes. The party leaves off their Cart and Oxen with an Innkeeper in the harbor and sets sail for the 24 hour voyage. Along the way, their ship was accosted by pirates, whom they were able to deter from attacking them thanks to their sheer numbers in relation to their much smaller ship and smaller crew. Followed hours later by an encounter with a behemoth from beneath the sea. A dragon turtle had spotted them, Hadley made an offering of gold to the creature to keep it from sinking her vessel which it accepted.
After those to incidents, The party landed on the shores of the Wildrim Islands. In gathering their bearings on this unfamiliar terrain, they were approached by a small girl. She greeted them as friends at first but her friendly demeanor soon gave way to fear thanks to a language barrier and the strange appearance of some of the characters physical appearance. Romaia cast comprehend languages allowing her to understand what what was being said to her, but was unable to communicate back. Instead opting for a visual display of peace casting druidcraft to bloom a flower near her. The little girl reacts with happiness and pulls a stone out and seems to use it to cast even more flowers around Romaia.
This pleasant exchange was interrupted as the girl's older brother, Trukka, approached the party and de-escalated the situation. He asked what the party was doing on the island. The party remained ambiguous and Trukka offered to bring them to the elder of his village in the hopes that he held the answers they sought.
The party was brought to this rural village and lead to a small mead hall where though they were first met with revulsion and fear, once inside they were greeted warmly as visitors by the denizens of this village.. Inside they watched as the elder of the town, Named Jussi, put on a truly unforgettable performance somehow creating magical effects using only the power of the song he performed.
The party later learned from him that this ancient magic is known as Laulu and he requests that the party learn the ways of this magic in exchange for information about the Fey crossing. They agree, and spend the next 2 weeks on the island living among the villagers and learning the magic of Laulu. They acquire rune Stones of their own (with varying degrees of difficulty). After a time, the party manages a tenuous grasp on the ability but usually it holds random and sometimes dangerous consequences. For they lack the years of knowledge and experience to exercise any sort of control over this ability.
Having taught the party the basics, Jussi informs them (Through a legend of sorts) that the Fey crossing is located on the island known as Oghma, and that dangerous creatures inhabit the island and guard the Fey Crossing. And that's where we'll pick up next time!

Jari - Little girl met at the Shores of Herne. Had a tense interaction with the party but was dissuaded by Romaia and the intervention of her older brother
Trukka - Older brother of Jari, Shooed her away and led the party into the village proper
Jussi - The village elder and Master Rune Singer - Asked the party to learn their magics to carry on their traditions which they obliged, and told them the fey crossing they sought was on the neighboring Island of Oghma
