Erika Rosenhand

Dr. Erika Rosenhand, Lady in Green

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Despite her very low weight, Erika claims to be in pristine physical condition. She attributes the weight in particular to her hybrid nature, and views it as an improvement in terms of energy efficiency compared to a regular mammal of her size.

Body Features

Erika has almond-colored skin and a very slim figure. Her hips are slightly elongated, as are her ribs. Her chest is marked by a broad green scar, which she proudly shows off by wearing almost exclusively the same deep-cut suit and shirt. On her right hand, Erika successfully transplanted the bark of a palm tree onto her skin, and also managed to modify her finger nails so that they resemble the thorns of a rose.

Apparel & Accessories

Erika specifically avoids accessorizing herself with anything made from metal - a feat in itself within the constraints of Saltor. She is usually seen in a suit and boots, all buttons replaced by wooden ones. In her large red bag, she always carries her latest batch of experimental substances - just in case she ever needs to be revived from a bone hound attack again. The same bag often contains Jelly, who likes to hold one of the viles between its paws while sleeping.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Erika Rosenhand, born as the only child of the Rosenhand family in Saltor, has grown up under quite wealthy conditions in the upper levels of the Tower-District, enjoying a very high-quality education. In her teenage years, she would accompany her parents, Saltiri and Nassor Rosenhand, into the Politarium to see political discussions and decision-making in action. In particular, she witnessed some of the adults weighing lives and suffering of people against each other, to find out the lesser evil or the greater win.   With 18 years of age, Erika decided to study medicine and biology in the University of Progress, with her dream always being to some day end suffering once and for all. After she got her doctorate at the age of 26, she took a more active role in advising her parents, who, out of pride and respect for their daughter, became somewhat of Erika's arm into the Politarium.   At the age of 31, when she was leading an experiment on Giant Bone Hounds, one of the hounds attacked her and caused a large open wound right on her chest. Keeping consciousness for an almost unnatural amount of time, she proceeded to dictate the other people present to treat her with a number of experimental salves and injections that she was keeping in her bag, intended for trial on these same hounds. Against all odds, Erika survived the encounter, and became something more than human in the process - the first Flora-Symbiotic Entity in written history, also known as the "Lady in Green".   For the past ten years, she has been accompanied by a Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitten named Jelly, who she adopted from a shelter in Laubtal. It became her best friend and most trusted assistant - even though it's barely able to carry even simple glass viles.

Employment

Erika Rosenhand nowadays works as a leading scientist on multiple projects for human-plant-hybridization. She is funded by multiple individuals with personal interests in her work, and is accommodated for within the walls of the University of Progress.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Besides her own transformation into the Lady in Green, Erika Rosenhand's scientific achievements include, among others:
  • The recreation of animated plants via alchemical means
  • The invention of multiple easy-to-produce alchemical substances to heal or mitigate certain ailments, like snake bites, burns, and menstrual pain
  • The successful transplantation of tree bark onto human skin

Mental Trauma

Despite having handled her accident with the Large Bone Hounds very quickly and expertly in the moment, Erika has been afraid of large animals ever since the accident. To her own frustration, this has stopped her from experimenting on larger animals multiple times, which in turn has caused her to test multiple substances on herself over the years - usually just to discover that they aren't quite as potent as she hoped they would be.

Social

Hobbies & Pets

Erika is always accompanied by her Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitten Jelly, despite its repeated attempts at mischief and thievery. She cares for it lovingly, and uses it as a distraction from work and politics.

RAINBOW BUTTERFLY UNICORN KITTY Sorry.

Sorry sorry. So, on the constructive comment level: I believe the bold on "Church of Kern" in the sidebar might be an accident - and it makes this section of the sidebar less organized. Overall the article feels full, well-organized with the highlight of both links and bolds. It feels like all important aspects of her life are showcased, which is definitely good. In both Mental Characteristics and Physical Appearances, h2 could probably beneficiate from having some more space above the paragraph - in some places there is more space between content-text paragraphs than before titles and the previous sections. For a challenge article it feels too neat and normal though, maybe a quote in the bottom part of the sidebar, or at the very beginning of the article could help gather some narrative and make it strike more to one's emotions.
