Valòmar

The Valòmar (Elvish for "voice of the gods") is the leader of the worship of the Wild Dynasty. They primarily hold sway in Scalados, but their position of power and authority is recognized among Wild Dynasty worshippers across the world.   When the gods of the Wild Dynasty are displeased, the mortal world suffers. The Age of Anxiety proved this, with its punishing natural disasters and long periods of famine and plague. Though the Wild Gods are no longer the primary driving forces of the age, their power is still fearsome, particularly in Scalados. Ignoring their desires could prove deadly for thousands across the kingdom.   The Valòmar is the only mortal capable of holding direct council with the six primary gods of the Wild Dynasty: Brigid, Lugos, Arawn, Morigana, Danu, and Dagda.

Appointment

A Valòmar must be elected by a quorum of at least nine votes. The Lebemnë receive one vote each, and the heads of each temple-campus receive two votes each, for a total of seventeen votes. These elections take place exactly one hundred days after the death of the previous Valòmar, and the voting members are sequestered away in Taras Telumë until they reach a consensus.

History

The most recent holder of the title was Valòmar Ricosa te-Brigida, who served from Y992 until his death on 10 January Y1111. The election of the next Valòmar is scheduled to take place on 20 April Y1111; the two candidates are Zadok te-Arawn and Lona te-Morigana.
