Uxali's Voice

I felt honored that my fellow peers thought so highly of me that they bestowed this title upon me. I am of the Shimmerscale clan. Usually only Moondrinkers are considered for this position. This is a great responsibility and I must do my best to prove I was a good choice. I don't want my friends and family to regret this.

This title is unique to the religious group Children of the Moon. It is the highest rank a follower can obtain, but it is not easy and only one individual holds the title at a time. They are regarded highly by the members and possess a large amount of trust and admiration from them.

Duties

Oversees every temple and organization member

Looks over and resolves disputes and other complaints brought to their attention

Prepares the yearly budget for the organization

Assists with holiday preparations where needed

Host a yearly sermon at rotating locations at the end of the Moon Festival to discuss the blessings and hardships their people dealt with through the year

Attempts to regain contact with Uxali to gain further guidance to pass along to everyone

How It's Earned

Each Voice earns their title via voting. During elections, each temple gathers ballots from their members during the week of the Moon Festival. Individuals who aren't near a temple or are the only worshiper in their area can mail in their choice. Once all the ballots are thoroughly counted, the winner is announced during the first week of the year.

This title is held for five years before another election is held. Voices are allowed to continue if they are reelected, which happens about fifty percent of the time. It boils down to how popular the current Voice is and if their followers believe they've provided a good service. There have been years where an individual betrayed the church in some way or did a horrible job, thus ending their time as the Voice prematurely.
