Ohm is inspired by video game franchises like The Legend of Zelda and Elder Scrolls. These games occur in diverse, open-world environments where players can adventure, explore, and ultimately save the world.
Some races, themes, and classes might also be derived from the Dungeons and Dragons universe, as well as magic and exploration (and, of course, you can't forget the dragons!) However, the dragons in Ohm are more closely related to those in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Elemental magic might also be inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender. The political structure of the different nations can also play a role in Ohm's politics. In addition, the generally light-hearted tone combined with the impending doom looming over the horizon makes for an interesting tone for the story.
Movies like Nimona provide good examples of the combination of technology and magic within a feudal system while also whimsically delving into deep societal issues.
