The History of Ohm so far
Before Ohm united as a kingdom, its people lived in different tribes around the lower continent. Each tribe was its own country, generally of only one species and mostly isolated from the rest of the world. As trade increased, different species and cultures began to co-mingle, and larger regions were formed. Some tribes were lost, and others were decimated due to war over territories.
In the central continent, the Thorilians built boats and sailed to the north to expand and find resources. They discovered and invaded the monk-inhabited island of Eiriel in the Eiriel-Thorilian War. Despite the Thorilians' technological advantages, the Eirielians had the gods on their side, along with elemental magicks and psionic powers. The Thorilians surrendered and instead formed a mutual alliance with Eiriel. In exchange for magic and knowledge, Thoril would provide Eiriel with technology.
Thoril and Eiriel later traveled south and discovered the lower continent. In awe of its natural resources, settlers integrated with Muha, Saram, Plessium, and Hatan. The natives were equally impressed by the mysterious magicks and technologies they brought. Religions and cultures were exchanged, and Thoril decided to build a long bridge spanning the coasts from Thoril to the lower continent. They also wanted to build a bridge to Eiriel, but Eiriel refused, wishing to keep its "holy land" separated. They did, however, open their borders to the south.
Eventually, all of these regions came together to form a union. They appointed a woman—one who was said to be born with powers unlike any other, with a special and personal connection to the gods—as their ruler. Eiriel built a grand staircase to the floating island above their holy land, where a massive citadel was erected as the home of the Crown. Thus, the kingdom of Ohm was born.
Current Species & Cultures
Ohm is inhabited by humans, orcs, elves, tieflings, fairies, dragonkin, , succubi/incubi, merfolk, kalashtar (equiv.), etc. Beasts and fauna, such as pegasi and others, also live there.
Muha is a fertile region on the southern peninsula of the lower continent. It was originally an orc colony before humans immigrated from other regions. While initially hostile towards these new humans, those who could prove their worth through battle gained an honorary spot amongst the orcs. Some even went on to become leaders and generals. Although Muha agreed to unite with the other regions of Ohm (mainly for trade), it primarily kept to itself and built fortifications around its settlements to keep unwanted visitors out. Their fortifications grew even stronger as magitech advanced more quickly, which the Muhara perceived as a threat.
Saram is a tropical region on the western side of the lower continent. It was formed from multiple colonies, most notably the elves of the Forest of Bloodlust, the merfolk, and the incubi/succubi living in the grottos near the shore. Some elves from the forest discovered a lush orange grove and expanded to tend to the trees. They continued to explore until they reached an incubus/succubus tribe on the western shore. The incubi/succubi enticed the elves with sinful pleasures, and the elves decided to stay. The elves left the forest and worked with the incubi/succubi to create a paradise enticing people from all over the continent. Tieflings were born from the inter-relations between elves and incubi/succubi, and the merfolk came to join in the never-ending festivities.
Plessium is another very old region on the eastern side of the lower continent. It was once a wasteland, filled only with dragons and beasts. When humans from the north first traversed the Napura desert, they built settlements around oases. As if the harsh climate wasn't enough, wild dragons made life in Napura challenging and dangerous. Over time, the humans tamed the dragons through music and dance. The dragons, in turn, led the humans to the volcanic highlands where the Dragonkin resided. They discovered rocky ore deposits and soon built mines and mining towns to forge specialized armor and weapons. Half-dragons were birthed from humans who were savvy enough to seduce a dragon. The Dragonborn taught the humans how to mine and forge metal, and the humans taught the Dragonkin how to put on stellar performances, turning Plessium into a (literal) cultural hotspot.
Hatan is a mountainous region in the heart of the lower continent. At the top of Mt. Hatan, the <flying race> descended from the angels, blessed with gifts of healing, and built their own settlements. They lived in solitude until, one day, a group of Sarami elves set off to explore the meadows beyond the orange grove in the shadow of Mt. Hatan. Upon reaching the mountain's base, they discovered a mystical healing spring surrounded by unicorns and pegasi. The elves rode the pegasi up to the summit, and the <flying race> warmly welcomed them into their community. The Hatanese built roads scaling the mountain from the surface to the summit, and they greeted anyone who came to visit with the finest hospitality.
The humans of Thoril resided on their own continent for quite some time, with ample resources to form their civilizations. They advanced quickly, but the Thorilians were never satisfied. They wanted more—bigger, better. During the Clockwork Age, the Thorilians built boats to sail the seas in search of land, people, and resources. After allying with Eiriel, Thoril began integrating their mechanical contraptions with Eirielian magic to form a new marvel: "magitech." But they still wanted to build their grand city, so they needed more metal. So this time, they sailed south and discovered the lower continent, bringing back a variety of people and resources so they could build the magical metropolis Thoril is known for today.
The Isle of Eiriel is the northernmost continent and one of the oldest civilizations in Ohm (and possibly the world.) The Kalashtar (equiv.) monks of Eiriel believed they were the direct descendants of the gods, largely due to the powers many were born with. Whether or not this is true, Eiriel had always been considered a holy place. The monks initially lived a humble life, but once they began importing resources from the south, they erected extravagant temples to honor the gods. Soon, they discovered that those born without godlike powers could be taught to wield magic or even develop psionics through intense training and study, so academies were formed to train such pupils in the magical arts. Eiriel would one day be the capital of Ohm, flooded with students of all races hoping to make pilgrimages, study, or visit the Crown on the island in the sky.
Needs & Relations
Muha
Muha accepts little help from outsiders but will take coin in exchange for goods and occasionally indulge the wandering merchant. Their main trade partner is Plessium. Their alliance is mutually beneficial with Plessium's arid climate devoid of fertile land and Muha's hearty warriors needing weapons and armor. A word of warning: The Muhara do not tolerate disrespect.

Saram
Saram eagerly welcomes visitors, though its people are known to be a little too friendly. They are incredibly sensual and will charm anyone who crosses their borders. Although many find their hedonistic lifestyle off-putting, the Sarami couldn't care less what anyone else thinks. In addition to their exports, they have lots of "activities" to offer.

Plessium
It is a hard trek to Plessium but a well-rewarded one. Plessians love to bask in the spotlight, entertain visitors, and welcome traders into their harsh lands. They put on many circuses, shows, tournaments, and performances, and although they are ready to defend themselves at a moment's notice, they rarely find the need.
Plessium exports:
Armor and Weaponry

Hatan
The Hatanese don't expect much from merchants and visitors. They have plenty of food, and they do not care for meat or alcohol. They are pacifists and do not need weapons or armor. They don't particularly feel one way or another about magitech. Hatanese are content with what they have and will always offer healing, medicine, hot meals, and warm beds to anyone who needs them.
Hatan exports:
Medicine

Healers
Thoril
Thoril is constantly bustling with people from the north and south going in and out. As a major trading hub, people from all walks of life traverse its streets. Thorilians are blunt and will always tell you what they are thinking. Thoril thrives on its connections with other regions -- if those connections fall, Thoril falls, too.
Thoril exports:
Magitech

Trade. They have literally everything.
Some folks pass through to go to Eiriel or Lower Ohm.
Eiriel
While it welcomes visitors from the south into its borders, Eiriel values peace and tranquility very highly and has little tolerance for anything (or anyone) that dares disturb this peace. Eirielians can be very judgmental and often look down on other cultures. The Crown is heavily guarded, and its soldiers are ready to strike down any threat at a moment's notice.
Eiriel exports:
Not really anything. Its value lies within its borders.
