Zaiam

Crown jewel and capital city of the nation of Kem Alek, Zaiam is a luxurious sprawl of water gardens, delicate footbridges, terraces, and walkways, spread out like an intricate carpet across the northern delta of the Qesh. The palace of the Sultanate of Salah Bin' Ashar, King of Kem Alek, reclines majestically to the North, embellished with lavish and gleaming mosaic walls of lapis lazuli, chalcedony, and pearl, presiding over a wide complex of galleries and courtyards.
More than a century ago, Ashar's father moved the royal residence from it's old, ancestral keep, far to the south and west in the city of Horounos, relieving it of the constant vigil against oceanic raiders, and now, it seems to bask in it's own peaceful opulence, though the king's guard are still a visible presence everywhere in the city, clad in white sammite and deep marine blue silk. Zaiam lives and breathes a dignified opulence.
