Drones
Drones, (also known as Active Defences, when installed on a NET as guards) are small robots capable of independent action within an area. There are two common kinds of drones. NET Drones are like autonomous defenders, they can follow a target over a long distance, usually up to the perimeter of a defended site. Using the NET Architechture, a user can configure either a manual control setup for the drone, or install a Dæmon to allow for autonomous control.
The Range listed on a NET drone is the distance they can travel from the NETArch, or on a fixed NETArch, simply designate an area on the property to defend. If a NET drone finds itself out of its Operating Range, it enters an autonomous non combat mode where it will attempt to navigate back into range of the Drone Rig or other Net Architecture controlling it via GPS. If GPS is unavailable, the Drone will either attempt to return to a home base or shut down on the spot (determined beforehand at the Operator's discretion). An abandoned drone returning home on its own could be a great boon, or it could bring enemies to your doorstep unknowingly.
Personal Drones link to an Agent or Drone Remote instead of a NETArch, but typically cannot travel nearly as far. Many Techs will invent upgrades for their Drone Remote cyberware to squeeze out every last drop of range from their equipment.
All drones are treated as having the prerequisites for firing Smart Ammunition, should the operator be able to afford such an expense.
Repairing a drone works a little differently than other items. You require 50eb worth of Drone Parts,

DV9 Electronics Security Tech, 5 min to counter
When purchased, a My First GRAF3 is linked to an Agent. Voluntarily linking it to a new Agent requires uninterrupted minutes and both Agents must remain within 6m of the drone. Countering a My First GRAF3 requires 5 minutes and the counterer must stay within 6m of the drone the entire time. If countered, the My First GRAF3 can be linked to a new Agent with an Action. The My First GRAF3 has 2 operational modes, and switching between them does not require an action. Standby Mode: In standby mode, a My First GRAF3 is powered on, but not operating. When in standby mode, a My First GRAF3 cannot move, nor can it make or dodge attacks. Direct Control Mode: The drone can be controlled directly via its linked Agent, using an Action in the same manner as a Netrunner using the Interface Ability, Control. When controlled directly, all attacks and defenses are made using the user's own skills as if they were firing its weapons in their own hands, and dodging with their own body. A My First GRAF3 cannot dodge ranged attacks no matter how high the user's Reflex. If a My First GRAF3 moves beyond the 6m signal tether to it's linked Agent, it stops functioning. Each unit has 3 hours of operational time before it needs to charge for an hour. The Observer

Everyone loves a camera. They're how we record memories to relive later and to share with friends and family. How much better would it be if your camera could move on it's own, and record your memories for you? That's the idea behind the Concept Mechanics Observer. The Observer is a flying drone with 4 rotors and a powerful camera capable of recording high quality sound and video. You can control your Observer directly via Agent, seeing everything it sees on your screen, or you can tell it to fly around you, recording whatever you tell it to. Just be careful! Your local or Corporate government might have rules about where you can fly your Observer and what you can record. You don't want to break any rules!

When purchased, an Observer is linked to an Agent. Voluntarily linking it to a new Agent requires uninterrupted minutes and both Agents must remain within 6m of the drone. Countering an Observer requires 5 minutes and the counterer must stay within 6m of the drone the entire time. If countered, the 12MU of data stored on the drone can be viewed or downloaded and the observer can be linked to a new Agent with an Action. The Observer has 3 Operation modes: Standby, Auto, and Direct Control, which can be switched between without an Action. Standby Mode: In standby mode, an Observer is powered on, but not operating. When in standby mode, an Observer cannot move, nor can it make or dodge attacks. Auto Mode: When not being directly controlled, an Observer orbits within 6m of its linked Agent, recording audio and video. The drone will respond to simple verbal commands such as "record the person I'm pointing at". These verbal commands do not require an Action. The recordings are stored both on an onboard memory chip and the linked Agent. The onboard memory chip holds 12MU of data before new footage overwrites old footage automatically. When in auto mode, an Observer cannot make or dodge attacks. An Observer cannot dodge ranged attacks no matter how high the user's Reflex. If an Observer moves beyond the 6m signal tether to it's linked Agent, it stops functioning. Each unit has 48 hours of operational time before it needs to charge for an hour.
