Tilli snapped. "Really?" She said, "You're going to condescend to us because the people at this school were too lazy to make it clear on the schedules where classes were? It's our first day! We're supposed to just have the whole school memorized already? Put up a freaking sign!"
"Interesting opinion, Miss..."
"Todetse." Tilli drew herself up to her full 5 foot 10 inches. "Tilitsitane Todetse."
"It's an interesting opinion, Miss Todetse, aside from the fact that your classmates all seem to have found their way on time."
Trisatan scanned the balcony. There were nine other students, aside from herself and Matt, and only four of them were first years. "I see your point, Mrs. Lowe, but I respectfully disagree." Tristan was aware she didn't sound in any way respectful, but she didn't really care. She was good enough at manipulating wind that she could have stolen Mrs. Lowe's breath from her, and she felt that actually letting her speak was restraint enough. "When one third of your first year students gets lost, I think that's a sign that there's a problem with the facility itself. Now, if you're done blaming us for the faults of the school, I was hoping I might actually learn something today."
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
As a child of a human and a sprite, Tilli has a combination of features of these two species. She is unusually tall, even for a human, with the tell-tale bark-like marks on her skin common among sprites.
Body Features
Tilli is 5'10" and has broad shoulders that often make her intimidating to look at. She has fair skin, but also has brown markings all over her skin that resemble tree bark. Also, similar to her sprite mother, she has small hands and feet (for someone of her height).
Facial Features
Tilli has an oval shaped face with deep set blue eyes, a long nose, and thin lips. She has shoulder length auburn hair which she usually wears in a fashion popular in whatever country she is in at the time.
Identifying Characteristics
Like other sprites and sprite kin, Tilli has brown markings all over her body that give her skin a tree-bark-like appearance.
Special abilities
As the child of a sprite, Tilli inherited her mother's magic. She has the ability to manipulate the wind. This means that she can call up and send away winds, as well as to use wind to increase her speed when walking or running, or to lift her into the air. She even has the ability to steal the breath of other people, an ability that is common among sprites, but rare among humans with wind magic abilities.
Tilli is also very smart. She learns very quickly, especially foriegn languages.
Apparel & Accessories
Similar to her hairstyle, Tilli usually wears whatever is fashionable in the country that she is in. Regardless, however, she always wears the bone necklace she received at birth. At home, she frequently dresses in common sprite clothes, which she finds most comfortable.

Personal history
Tilli Todetse is the child of two diplomats--Tode Gatseline and Melody Nightwind. Her father is a human and her mother is a sprite. Tilli's father was of the Xurugwi faith. Therefore, at birth, Tilli was gifted a necklace of beads fashioned from human bone. This bone had belonged to someone else in the community who died shortly before she was born. In line with Xurugwi Funeral Rites, Tilli believes that the necklace will allow her to tap into past lives. She also hopes it will help her keep her memory of this life.

Tilli's mother has duel citizenship in Agrona and Nefrale, where she was born. She has also served as a Nefrale Council Member twice. Her father has served in several countries, as a representative for his native Agrona, and as a result, Tilli has traveled to many countries across Nideon.
Tilli has spent much of her life competing with her older siblings, Sam and Cadolina, who are two and three years older than her, respectively, and both of whom have ambitious plans to follow in their parents' footsteps. Though Tilli loves traveling, she is not as interested in the political side of things. She enjoys trying to blend into other cultures and see what native people think of their own countries. One of her favorite memories was from traveling to Snickerry, and learning the Snoiks way of cooking, and how it so carefully ties into religious beliefs. She also tries to take part in popular sports whenever she is traveling.
Tilli's greatest interest, however, is art. At twelve years old, Tilli began to develop an interest in drawing and painting, which she has only shared with her cousin, Applestar. Tilli has always worried that her parents will be upset if they learn she has a deeper interest in a subject as frivolous as art than the legal and political matters that her siblings so intently follow.
Tilli, like her siblings, has also inherited her mother's gift for wind magic, as well as languages. She has a natural gift for manipulating wind, which is so powerful that she can steal someone's breath away. When Tilli was seven, her grandmother on her mother's side forgot who she was, and Tilli has always attributed this to her not being grounded by a piece of a past life.

Tilli is naturally gifted at learning languages, and as a result has mastered several: Nirukita, Cugbo, Zhohu, Imk, and Roex.
Despite her desire to stand out from her siblings, at age thirteen, Tilli applied for Faraday School for Wizards, which both of her siblings were attending at the time. She did so because she felt a familial obligation, but once accepted, she decided to differentiate herself from her siblings by focusing more on her gift for languages than her ability with wind magic. Nevertheless, Tilli's sprite heritage is important to her, and she often feels more comfortable around her sprite family than her human family, although she adopted her father's religion, rather than her mother's.Once, while traveling in Liri, someone tried to assassinate her and her mother. Tilli, only beginning to develop control over her wind skills, took his breath away until he suffocated. Though she was only a child at the time, and not punished, as she acted in self-defense, the memory of it still haunts her, and she has since spent less time developing her wind abilities, and more time developing her language skills.

For most of her life, Tilli had private tutors, often locals from the country in which her family was traveling. The year before attending Faraday, she convinced her parents to let her attend a public school in Agrona. As a result, her education has been varied, but a constant in her life, leaving her with a wide array of knowledge. While other students may struggle with erratic type of education, Tilli is a quick learner, and has a curiosity that thrives in such an environment. She is actually nervous about attending Faraday for four years straight, something that she has never done before.

Tilli was only six years old when she accidentally killed a man in Liri, only just developing her ability to manipulate wind. Though she suffered no negative consequences for it, the memory still haunts her, and she is, to some degree, afraid of her wind abilities.
Intellectual Characteristics
Tilli is very good at learning languages. By age fourteen, she is already able to speak half a dozen languages, and is eager to learn more. She is also talented at blending in with whatever group of people that she is around. When traveling, Tilli often packs light and wears the kind of clothes that are common in the country she is visiting. She also familiarizes herself with customs so that she can travel as if she is a native, though the sprite-markings on her skin sometimes make it very obvious that she is not.
TIlli is naturally curious and will learn anything that she can. She also likes to debate and argue, though she frequently does this for the entertainment of arguing rather than because she actually disagrees with someone. She finds that debating and arguing with people is a good way for her to learn how different people think. Tilli's curiosity, however, can get her in trouble. She has little sense of self-preservation and will sometimes end up in places that are dangerous for her.

Tilli is usually motivated by whatever her current interest is. Though she has some desire to be an artist, and she has a goal of finishing school at Faraday, mostly she wants to travel the world and live by her whims.

Tilli is very good at learning languages, and for that matter, tends to be a quick study at most things. She is also quite a good artist. She can struggle to get along with people, however. This has a lot to do with her spontaneous nature. Tilli often does not make careful plans, and will act instead, on what is interesting to her in the moment, often upsetting people in the process. Tilli also likes to argue for the sake of arguing, and frequently doesn't notice when the person she's arguing with is not enjoying the debate.

Tilli is more interested in her mother's heritage than her father's. As a result, she is fond of sprite music. She mostly reads travel guides, and sometimes art books, but only in secret. Tilli does not like fiction very much, preferring to read about the real world. Similarly, when watching movies, she prefers documentaries.

Religious Views
Tilli is a devout follower of Xurugwi, her father's religion. Not only does she always wear her bone necklace, but she sometimes worries for those who do not have items to ground them in past lives, as she does. She regularly reads the Xurugwi religious texts and meditates on her past lives on a daily basis. Tilli also has done a lot of research on the person who previously owned the bone necklace--the person who, according to Xurguwi beliefs, she was last--Fortuna McNeil--and she claims that she sometimes dreams of her past lives.
