Fae Lands
The Fae Lands encompasses the entirety of the surreal dimension the Fae call home. It includes the pristine, structured garden of the Summerlands, the seat of the Seelie Court, as well as the Winterlands, the frozen tundras and deadly landscapes of the Unseelie Court. All of the Fae Lands that are not held by either court is called the Fae Wilds, which includes the harsh desert lands of the Barrens.
The matter or material of Fairy is extremely subjective. That means that is is very easy to use magic and will to create affects in the reality of Fairy. Because of this, the anchor points to the mortal realm (the Four Treasures of the Tuatha De Danann) allow the emotional energy of mortals to infect Fairy. This phenomenon is how the Barrens came to be, absorbing industrial pollution energy, as well as tainted spirits.

The Nature of Fairy
The Fae Lands are a mirror or overlay dimension with the mortal realm. This means that the realms exist in the same space, but at a different point in mind. As some things replace others as TIME goes by, so does Fairy overlap the mortal realm as a concept. The matter or material of Fairy is extremely subjective. Common experiences in the Fae Lands include:
- Disorientation in space - The physical environment changes frequently, making it nearly impossible to use maps or memory to navigate it. Magical items can be used to find your way, but only the Fae and Half-Mortals have the magical strength to travel without assistance.
- Disorientation in time - Time passes oddly in the Fae Lands, making it difficult to know how long you have been away from Earth. This is so well known, it is a common warning in fairy tales.
- Deals - While mortals understand that give and take are a part of every interaction, the Fae are the ones counting the points. While their power is great, they don't run a magic charity. All gifts come with a price, and the Fae are very good at price gouging, particularly on their home turf.
- Gifts - The Fae do not believe in a free lunch. All gifts are the first step in negotiating a deal. Never accept anything from any Fae unless/until you clarify the price for that offering. This can be used against the Fae, as many have a personal or species-specific achilles heel. If you know what a certain type of Fae likes, you can trick them into accepting a gift without negotiating price first, putting them in your debt. This will, however, anger them, so taking advantage could get you an enemy for life.
- Intoxication - Another common warning is to never eat or drink in the Fae Lands. There are "safe" exceptions, such as a feast during political interactions. Primarily, the Fae use the acceptance of the "gift" of food or drink as an unspecified deal. And if you consume the "gift," you owe the "price."
