Troll

The Trolls are gangly, blue-gray-skinned Giants who stand around twice the average human height. They bear small, pointed fingernails, prominent canines, usually dark hair and eyes, and a flattened nose. The Trolls are widespread throughout the Mindreland and to some are synonymous with the name of “giant” itself.   They are nomadic in lifestyle and move with the seasons, eating whatever plants and animals are available at the time. Individuals gather in Tribes and collections of Tribes become Nations. Each Nation is marked by different cultures and slight regional differences in physiology. Those that occupy plains, for example, develop a sandstone coloration and their skin grows hard. Trolls who live amongst forests and caves tend to develop softer, darker skin with the generations. As a whole people, the Trolls value the natural world above all and recognize the importance of the Power. How they show their respect differs markedly between Tribes and Nations. Sacrifice, prayer, offerings, and chants are some of the various [??].   War between Nations and Tribes is rare though conflict is common. Trolls, however, are not an aggressive people and much more frequently, disagreements are settled diplomatically in a process agreed upon by each group’s leaders. The Troll language is the basis for all Giants (for convenience rather than [??]) and varies somewhat between Tribes and Nations, often becoming more unique the further one travels from one area. Grammar structures and prominent names are for the most part identical, however.   Troll Tribes are fairly exclusive to other races and creatures though individual Trolls often ally with different Leshy and Kimbura. Most Trolls have an antagonism toward Ogres for their “backwards” belief system and their way of harnessing the Power.   Historically, Trolls were one of the races enslaved by the gods [??].
