Session 38 - Trial
General Summary
Sasha and Hamilton collected themselves after an intense battle against a wild pack of Emberfangs, which resulted in Rollie getting heavily injured. Hamilton and Veronica rushed back to the camp to get help for their near-dead pupil, while Sasha stayed to look after him. During that time, Rollie confessed that he knew of Sasha's title as "Trollslayer" and admired her ability to succeed, despite the odds being stacked against her. Hamilton got Mercy and a few other Red Fangs to follow him back to the clearing, where Rollie was escorted back to camp to get looked at. Meanwhile, Finn and Tinheart walked the rest of the way back, and Tinheart finally opened up to Finn, at least a little. He told Finn that he was teaching him because of the unique position Finn is in, and the potential he has to help all Servokind. The party reunited back at the camp, and learned that the Red Fangs' prisoner was none other than Valentine! He tried to bargain with the party for assistance, but Finn shut him down. With that, the party said their goodbyes and continued on their way. During the trip, Finn, eager to practice his swordsmanship, accidentally broke Sasha's precious shortsword. He tried to hide it, but Sasha found it without much trouble. Not long after, the party arrived at Riverbend to find a crowd surrounding Samantha Wilcott and an elven woman in shackles. After investigating the situation, they discovered the woman, named Amber Nashwood, has murdered a man named Reed Nox. Samantha had a pleasant conversation with Hamilton, and asked him to get the votes of some of the settlement's residents who had yet to decide, and he accepted. Meanwhile, Sasha went to the HansPuckett shop to stock up on arrows, where she met Namid the shopkeep, a depressed, lethargic Ka-Tar. Sasha tried to motivate Namid, to no avail. Finn went into Everdeen Woodworking, where he met Maddie Beck's mother, Agnes Everdeen! She agreed to let him stick around there with her and watch her work. Sasha and Hamilton met up and exchanged some information, but Hamilton insisted on completing the task himself. Finally, Sasha began walking to Renee's for a drink, when a guard asked her to come with him. She was led to a tent where the third party and only witness of the murder was being kept: Eleanor!
