Awelan (au̯.ɛlæn)

History

Awelan was always a bit of a troublemaker in Danholm. She spent the majority of her time avoiding chores and classes, preferring to be exploring the caves around the academy or climbing the walls. Her favourite place to sit was on top of Danholm’s tallest observatory tower, away from the pressures of school and socialising. The only people Awelan begrudgingly likes to be around are: Cordell who spends her free time repairing Awelan’s ripped clothes and looking after her cuts and bruises; Rhiannon who shares Awelan’s love of literature; and Hyun who keeps Awelan company when they’re climbing or exploring outdoors.

Relationships

Awelan is of unknown parentage. She was taken to Danholm before she was old enough to have any memories of the people who created her. She, like all of Danholm's residents, created a family of the people who grew up with her. Her last surviving 'family' are Hyun, Cordell and Rhiannon. Since coming to Hachenberg, Awelan has added Whisp to her little family.

Gealach is a ferret that Awelan purchased from Whisp, she later became Awelan's familiar during her first year in Hachenberg. When the bonding ceremony was complete, beyond the standard abilities, Gealach (Gea for short) was able to cast Dwindle Soul once a week as well as being able to fit herself into any space.
Awelan is now better at pursuing her prey.
