Zyphil the Imp (Zai-fill)
I've spent over a thousand years observing your kind, Master. You mortals burn fast and bright...but you leave a mark like nothing else. Every one of you matters in one way or another and that's more than I can say for some of my kind.Being a low-level minion of the Planes of Hell is not the greatest of existence's but it was the one Zyphil was birthed into and it is where he has remained for his roughly two millennia. Well...birthed is a rough approximation of how those like him came into existence. Imps like Zyphil are less born than simply created and are more often than not created from fragments from other planes. They might be parts of human spirits or powerful emotions or even strong memories, reforged into a being of hellfire and brimstone.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Though standing no more than 0.43 meters tall, Zyphil is a perfectly portortioned - if somewhat stocky - figure. Being birthed of memory, his physicality has not changed since he came into existence.
Body Features
Beyond his rough green reptilian base skin, Zyphil has several patches of thicker scales of darker green on his body. These are mainly oriented over his neck, chest, and groin area and provide extra protection to the most delicate regions. There are other patches of darker scale over his shoulders and thighs as well as own his knees. The last batch of thick scales are gathered over his hands and feet, protecting the tops of the more delicate limbs.
He also has vicious claws tipping the ends of both his hands and reptilian feet.
Facial Features
Zyphil's facial features are reptilian, making his expressions hard to read. Hairless, with ridges of bone above his eyes and and sharp beak of a nose, he looks more like an Old Terran depiction of a western dragon than anything else. Especially given the pale curving horns that arch up from the top of his skull above the crest of thick dark scales that protect the back of his neck.
Special abilities
As an imp, Zyphil has access to a wealth of Power - even though his own is miniscule in comparison to some other denizens of the Planes. He does, however, have a great deal of knowledge about Power and is an apt teacher of the uses of it after two millennia of using it as well as observing others - mortals and Other - using it.
Through his bond with Meira Kinsail, he also has the ability to merge with her and share his Power. This combines their strengths into one if the need arises...but it comes with its own risks.
Apparel & Accessories
While he literally has nothing to cover up as he does not possess sex organs, Zyphil typically wears a ragged stretch of cloth across his chest and a brief loincloth. It keeps mortals from losing their feeble minds.
Since being bound to Meira Kinsail, he also sports thick iron manacles around his wrists. While they are not attached to any chains, they are a sign of his binding. If looked closely at, there are odd symbols etches into the metal of each...symbols that came directly from the spell of binding that his Master unknowingly used to bind him to her.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Zyphil was born from the memory of a betrayal, specifically a now ancient remnant of brother betraying brother. Despite coming into existence from this memory, it has not had much of an influence on him during the entirety of his existence.
For a large part of his existence, Zyphil simply spent it watching the goings-on in other planes. While he did sometimes pay attention to others, more often than not his focus was on the Mortal Plane as he watched creatures of the Other like himself slowly get wiped out by the rise of humanity or leave the mortal plane for others. Although the rising crush of humanity almost entirely wiping anything off of the face of the Earth, he still found it fascinating to watch them and was thus always a little more closely connected to it than any other.
This connection is potentially what ended up with him being selected by the spell that bound his essence with Meira Kinsail.
Though at first he was furious at the unwanted connection, Zyphil was also fascinated that something Other had persisted across the span of time and had come into existence inside the young woman despite humanity attempting to wipe it out so many times. Despite his disdain for how the connection had come to be, he decided that he was going to help this young woman learn more about what she was and just what she could do. Even if he never ended up back in his own plane of existence until after her lifespan was done, it would at least be interesting.
Gender Identity
While he was not birthed with a gender identity - he was merely Zyphil and nothing else - the many years of observing humanity left him with an understanding of them. Over that time, he has come to identifty with a masculine identity and use of such pronouns.

Zyphil was summoned and bound to Meira Kinsail when she was 22 Cycles. Since then he has aided her in her studies of magic.
Shared Secrets
Although they know no other Mageborn to hide it from, Meira and Zyphil would hide from anyone else that they are bound the way they are. Especially as with a simple incantation, they pair can combine their power. Such bindings with Hellspawn are frowned upon.
