Silent Wardens
The Sullen Council, the enigmatic leaders of the city-state of Druvenia, reside and convene in the Council Hall, which is located at the apex of a tower of marble constructed in the center of the city. At the foot of this tower, before its grand entrance, stand the Silent Wardens.
This duo of gigantic, armor-clad warriors is presumably tasked with the protection of the Council Hall and the Sullen Council itself, a task they take to in utter silence.
The helmets they wear cover their heads entirely, with only narrow slits for the Wardens to see through. No eyes are visible behind these slits, however.
The only time these warriors have been witnessed to move is when they've opened the doors to sanctioned visitors and during the Unveiling, when the Congregation of Witnesses attempted their coup of the city-states, during which the Wardens effortlessly slew the cults thralls by the dozens as they tried to enter the tower. When all was said and done, the silent warriors simply returned to their posts by the door, as if nothing had happened.
The Wardens have never been observed to have spoken or even vocalized in any way, their vigil characterized by the utter silence that they've earned their moniker from. Druvenian citizens and visitors from other parts of Nascindor have tried conversing with the sentinels to no avail, and the duo has become somewhat of a tourist attraction due to this.
Others claim them to be creations of the S'aue, purchased from some obscure workshop by the Sullen Council. However, while the S'aue are incredibly talented and capable of creating mechanical marvels without equal on the face of Nascindor, the Silent Wardens are perhaps a bit too articulated, too fluid in their motion to be machines.
Individuals with a penchant for the esoteric posit that the Council Hall and the Silent Wardens have always been here, that Druvenia was constructed around the marble tower rather than it being a part of the city.
These whisperings occasionally go so far as to imply that this is the case for the Sullen Council itself, and that the Wardens are their creations, the last remaining soldiers of an army long since gone.
Whatever the truth, it is fortunate that these juggernauts are ostensibly on the side of humanity.

Equipment
The two guardians are clad in identical, black plate armor with ornamentation of dull gold. They are armed with crescent shaped axes, the edges of which have been sharpened to a razor gleam. The helmets they wear cover their heads entirely, with only narrow slits for the Wardens to see through. Behavior
Standing over seven feet tall, the imposing Wardens dwarf most men and S'aue. They stand motionlessly at the entrance of the Council Hall, never moving, never speaking. Origin
As the Sullen Council itself, the Silent Wardens are steeped in mystery. Most people assume that they are not men at all, but rather empty suits of armor animated through some magical means. This theory is supported by the fact that no one has ever seen them eat, sleep, or show any sign of fatigue. Their armor remains pristine, untouched by rust or wear, and their movements are unnaturally smooth and precise, more like those of a dancer than a humongous armor-clad warrior.Others claim them to be creations of the S'aue, purchased from some obscure workshop by the Sullen Council. I love the mystery that surrounds them, what they are, and where they're from.
