Fyodor Grumly
Dean of the House of Learning, Fyodor Grumly is a man of vast knowledge and little patience. Preferring a hands-on approach, he holds lectures along with the rest of the faculty, and he demands no less than perfection from his students and subordinates alike.
So he got right back to studying, absorbing all the knowledge he could from the books of the great libraries of Pluthem, memorizing many of them by heart and from cover to cover. When it came time for the try-outs of the next semester, he walked right on in past the queue and demanded to be tested again there and then, an absurd notion, seeing how there are no second chances at the House of Learning.
However, amused by his confidence, each teacher presented Fyodor with questions that were far and above of what was asked in the actual applications. Each of them fell silent one by one when Fyodor not only answered every single question correctly, but also corrected factual mistakes or outdated information in the questions in the process.
Fyodor was immediately enrolled for the course and went on to receive multiple honors and academic letters during his years in the House of Learning, finally graduating with the highest marks in the history of the institution, the only other student to ever come even close to his record being the current guildmaster and Grand Vizier of the Enlightened Few, Zakiyah Farek.
Early Life
As a youth, Fyodor applied to the House of Learning as youths often do; utterly lacking in discipline and preparation. It was little wonder to an outside observer why he was denied, but to Fyodor the rejection was sobering. However, unlike most people who would be laid low with their dreams being denied in such a way, Fyodor instead became furious that he was being scrutinized and disqualified in such a way.So he got right back to studying, absorbing all the knowledge he could from the books of the great libraries of Pluthem, memorizing many of them by heart and from cover to cover.
