Empyrean

Empyrean, also known as Heaven or Torm's Gift, was a plane of existence and home to Torm himself, and his companion Sune. Empyrean is widely known as a realm accessible only by the honored dead, open to the souls of the truly good and brave of Naneth. In Empyrean, these souls endure for eternity, walking among the gold halls and partaking in great feasts each evening.

History

At the end of the Age of Creation, after the The Betrayal and the subsequent conflict between The Eres, Empyrean was created. As the Eres left Naneth, many retreated into parallel dimensions, in which they could keep an eye of the inhabitants of Naneth from. Empyrean was Torm's creation, and it was his intent to create an eternal home for Sune and himself, while offering refuge to the souls of Naneth's bravest, once their time had come.

Access

Accessing Empyrean is thought to be impossible for living mortals, as only those that have passed on, have the chance to enter Torm's paradise. Those that show purity, strength, honour, and other virtues in life, have a chance to enter Empyrean upon their death. Of course, each soul that passes upon Naneth falls into The Void, under the care of Kelemvor. From here, the souls are shepherded by Kelemvor to either Empyrean, or The Underblaze, depending on their deeds in life.
