Beholders

The beholders are perhaps some of the most strange creatures currently residing in the material plane. They resemble large orbs, with a center cyclopean eye and mouth, around their spherical form are tentacles tipped with eyeballs. However, no beholder looks exactly like the other, and they remain a huge mystery to the Arcanic Order, as they are too dangerous to experiment on while alive, and no efforts have been made to investigate them.
