Archmage Albus Nosfrit
Albus Nosfrit is an Archmage of the Arcanic Order. He currently serves the Empire under Duke Malerius Hamonnet at his court in Rivershore. Being the right hand of the Duke, and the person in charge of audiences and keeping track of the court agenda, Albus is the holder of a great amount of power and influence in the duchy, and is especially tied with the nobility.
A man of humble beginnings, Albus grew up in the Central Rivershore district of Rivershore as the child of a retired merchant. From a young age he showed an affinity towards the arcane, and at the age of 10 he was the assistant of Mage Aldmeri Voss. At age 14 he was sent to Exelnar to study in the Imperial College of Magic, where he met a lot of fellow wizards and learned a lot about the world and magic.
During his studies he was especially interested in expeditions, and took part in many daring adventures. Through this he developed a reputation as somewhat reckless within the Arcanic Order, as he put together and pushed for the continuation of many dangerous expeditions. The price for that danger was paid by a number of established and inspiring adventurers who never made it back from the expeditions. However, this was not without results, and Albus managed to impress many of his peers and teachers with his arcane insight and new discoveries.
At 27, after finishing his studies and mastering the school of Conjuration, Albus made his way back to Rivershore, where he stayed as a mage of the arcanic order. However his hunger for knowledge was not sated, and he soon started organizing and spearheading many expeditions into points of interest, especially towards the Northern Wastes. In his time at the College he had learned of ancient places of power in the far north from before the Golden Age of Magic.
The two expeditions to the northern fringes are the most remarkable part of Albus's career, as he recruited dozens of experienced adventurers and explorers from Rivershore and beyond, calling all his resources to uncover the long lost secrets. There he found however that he was not the only seeker of knowledge interested in those ruins. Other than the usual hazards of the Northern Wastes, they had to face groups from the Dragonborn Empire, Fiendish Cults, and non-human tribes that were interfering. In the end, the second expedition managed to reach the inner depths of the ruins, but only Albus and a handful more adventurers made it back.
While the specifics of what was there are too complex and restricted for this entry, it is safe to say that something was found there. After that Albus was never the same, and was then on known as a very calm and timid presence. However his personal power and influence skyrocketed, with him officially becoming an Archmage and he used what he uncovered to build a network of teleportation circles in the Hamonnet Duchy. This placed him at the top of the power structure of Rivershore, and he would continue his calm way of leadership until the War of Vernoff begun and Volis Heartbrand, Arch Inquisitor arrived.
As the head of the arcanic order, he is known for his ability to properly delegate tasks, and his aptitude for splitting resources between competing mages in such a way that all were content. He has therefore earned quite the reputation as a trusted and wise leader, even though his age, while not young, would not immediately show that, as the archmage is currently 43 years old.
When the situation calls for combat, Albus switches his robes with a pair of unknown robes that were custom made for him, and are utterly unique. All that is known is that they appear as having a moving tapestry of the Astral Sea on them, in vivid detail. Additionally he exchanges his ring with a modified Staff of Power, the body of which is an oak swirl, and the head of which is a large suspended emerald surrounded by the oak web, which spins when spells are cast.

As an Archmage, Albus is the wielder of a number of powerful magical items. While the specifics of his equipment are not fully known, for his own safety, some general ideas can be discerned by the experienced and keen-eyed. When in non-combat situations, Albus wears a modified Robe of the Archmagi which looks white with silver and gold linings and the symbol of the Arcanic Order.
