Karmic Respite

Established by a very clever set of citizens of Divina, who worship Kelemvor, as a place to mine ore and stone for the rest of the countryside to utilize. It is the only mine in the world to be designated a "holy mine", and is actively mined by a battalion of undead. The undead are bound by a contract that grants their spirit penance for crimes in this life, ensuring a peaceful afterlife. Unlike magic spells that raise the dead forcefully, the rituals used here by the clerics of Kelemvor allow spirits uneasy with their life and sins a chance to return to their dead bodies to perform a sort of community service. This city is populated nearly entirely of clerics and the undead civilians. The undead here are forbidden from harming any living thing, under penalty of eternal torture in the afterlife. The dead cannot speak, but can communicate with other means, such as writing. It is a peaceful town, with little to worry about other than meeting the goals required by other settlements in the region.
