Aphes was the son of Primas the Great, who ruled as King of the Heartland 36-47 EC.

Aphes was considered by most to be exceedingly handsome, if in a stark, neat way. He was fastidious regarding his personal habits, including diet and hygiene.
Special abilities
Aphes inherited his mother's Sheyla healing abilities. He made good use of this in battle. He was not known to ever use his magic outside his immediate family.

Accomplishments & Achievements
Aphes reigned as King of the Heartland 36-47 EC, following his father's death.
Primas' death caused a flurry of uprisings to break out. Aphes joined forces with one of his father's officers, General Tortula Amodius Mekulet, to institute martial law.
Failures & Embarrassments
As the son and heir to Primas the Great, Aphes had much to live up to. He was neither as intelligent as his father, nor as charismatic. Most members of court considered him a pale imitation.
Morality & Philosophy
Aphes was more of a hard-liner than his father, extending his father's vision with a strict ends-justify-the-means attitude. He was wholly dedicated to the tenets of the god Mikel, and thus much of his leadership policy was strongly "by the sword."
In other words, there were a great number of state-sanctioned beheadings during his reign.

For all that Aphes did not always agree with his father, he understood his father's goals and, following his death, took them on as his own. Aphes had his own ideas on how to improve upon his father's vision, and acted upon them as best as he was able.

Aphes was good with a sword and had a knack for rote memorization. However, he was infamously bad at reading between the lines to decipher the intentions of others. This led to him being unwittingly used as a pawn on multiple occasions by various members of the Triam
Vices & Personality flaws
Aphes was a single-minded individual, tending to latch onto a task or an ideal and never let go. This led to a certain blindness to anything on the periphery of his goals. This blindness is part of why the Red Night Revolts were successful. Had he been aware of the preceding signs, the revolts would likely have gone very differently.
