T'zu-Crae's Chair

T'zu-Crae is widely known for his many eccentricities, the most egregious of which is banning pups from the Leader's Quarters. However, the most silly must be his insistence upon using a chair (more accurately described as a throne) in a culture where if one were to sit on anything, it would be a stool or the floor.   As such, the chair has become a symbol for the rest of T'zu-Crae's excesses, representing his deliberate separation from other Stenza and a sort of wall between himself and the very people who relied on the mutual trust between Leader and Droghi for cohesive government and a sense of societal cohesion. Additionally, the chair (in effigy form) is an object of political protest and holds an indelible place in political and symbolic conversation.

Significance

The Chair is taken as a symbolic rejection of Stenza cultural norms, and is treated with some degree of suspicion. Subsequent leaders would distance themselves sharply from the use of chairs in public view in order to retain cultural legitimacy.

I love that something as simple as a chair can be such a powerful symbol. T'zu-Crae obviously wasn't thinking things through.

Adding that to his list of eccentricities: "Inability to think through the consequences of his actions". Although that probably fed into all the others...
