Session 49: The Liberation of Eastbridge, Part 1
General Summary
Tents lined the outside of Eastbridge, where additional soldiers had made camp. The groups approached in the morning. Tertius led the Eastbridge calvary, Levi led the D’arlington infantry, Bolvaic led the Northlander Raiders, Tertius and Ilbryen each led a group of kobolds, and Illevaere rode with the stag cavalry. The party also employed the Kobold catapult that they had seized during the raid on the League.
The armies advanced, catching those at Eastbridge by surprise as they scrambled to muster more units from the tents outside the walls. The drawbridge to Eastbridge was down, as Holdenbrook sabotaged it when they retreated. However, the defenders had archers in the upper towers along the wall and a ballista.
The battle began with the catapult crashing a boulder into the enemy infantry and the armies pressed on to retake Eastbridge. Illevaere summoned a magical black Dragon to swoop in and attack the archers on the towers. The armies continued to attack as few of the defending troops were able to rally and muster. As one unit of infantry fell, Illevaere raised them with spores into a zombie-like state and they joined the battle on their side.
Finally, another infantry group mustered on the battlefield as another cavalry unit readied beyond the walls and began to charge out.
