Mother's Favorite, a champion of the Goblin Court and one of the sons of the Mother of Redcaps, is a vicious and cunning warrior whose ferocity on the battlefield and sharp wit have earned him the favor of his mother and the respect of the Goblin Court. Standing taller than most redcaps, he is a wiry figure, his lean frame taut with muscle and coiled like a spring, ready to unleash violent force at a moment’s notice. His crimson-stained cap, the source of his race's name and power, is always damp with fresh blood, a grim testament to his deadly skill and his relentless thirst for battle.
His face is sharp and angular, with a permanent sneer that reveals jagged, yellowed teeth. His eyes glow with an eerie, malevolent light, filled with equal parts cunning and bloodlust. His wiry white hair peeks out from beneath his blood-soaked cap, giving him an almost wolfish appearance. His gnarled hands, long-fingered and clawed, are almost always gripping a wickedly sharp iron scythe, its blade chipped and darkened from countless kills.
Mother's Favorite's armor is pieced together from scavenged materials—scraps of iron, bone, and leather—each component bearing the scars of battle. Despite its patchwork appearance, the armor has an intimidating presence, much like the Redcap himself. Every inch of his attire is spattered with dried blood and grime, his entire being radiating menace and an unnerving sense of barely restrained violence.
Unlike many redcaps who rely solely on brute strength and their innate bloodlust, Mother's Favorite is also a cunning tactician. He has a knack for exploiting the weaknesses of his enemies, using traps, feints, and dirty tricks to ensure his victories. This blend of savagery and intelligence has elevated him above his peers, securing him a position of prominence within the Goblin Court.
His relationship with his brother, The Other One, is one of disdain and condescension. Where Mother's Favorite is ruthless and efficient, The Other One is viewed as an embarrassment, a constant reminder of what a redcap should not be. Mother's Favorite takes every opportunity to remind his brother of his failings, further cementing his favored status in their mother’s eyes.
In the Goblin Court, Mother's Favorite is both feared and admired. His loyalty to the Mother of Redcaps is absolute, and his service to the court is driven by a desire to see its enemies crushed beneath his iron boots. To face Mother's Favorite in battle is to confront a whirlwind of violence and malice, a champion whose cunning and brutality make him a nearly unstoppable force.
He was first met by the party when passing through the Moonwell portal from the Silver Lodge to the Court of Leaves and Whispers. He was also sent to help Tertius and the party reclaim Eastbridge when it was seized by his cousin.
