The Arcane Lords of ancient Ronaria form the Empire of Phaenixia
So long before any surviving records, many doubt when or if these events truly happened
The Arcane Lords of ancient Ronaria form the Empire of Phaenixia
The humans that would go on to form the Sarkhani found their nation in an unknown corner of Mithlonde
The Phaenixian Empire falls to the Sarkhani in a devastating war. The magical fallout of the fighting forever changes the region of Ronaria, physically and spiritally.
A time of great wealth, prosperity, and advanced magi-tech, the Sarkhani are the undisputed rulers of Mithlonde.
The Sarkhani Empire completes its conquest of Mithlonde. They enforce their culture, religion, language, and laws across the continent and using their vast resources to fund research into amazing magitechnical advances.
A mega project founded by the last known Sarkhani Emperor, the Mesh was to bring about unlimited magical energy for the magitech hungry Sarkhani Empire
An unknown magical phenomenon known now as The Cataclysm ravages the continent, devastating the Sarkhani Empire beyond recovery and wiping much of its knowledge and records. The full extent and length of the event is unknown, as no concrete records survive.
Our current age, a world broken by magical apocalypse and struggling to heal.
Numerous nations rise and fall, their names largely lost to history. Much of Mithlonde remains wild and untamed, as warfare and catalysts prove too much for civilization to truly overcome.
The first recorded instance of a Catalyst, believed to be an after shock of the Cataclysm, strikes down the slowly recovering nations seeking to fill the vacuum left by the collapsed empire.
The years following the Catalyst War, the monolithic Dominion, a nation founded on its faith in the Flame, underwent a great schism. With their generational enemy, The Empire of the New Covenant, gone, the young Archon Jezebel sought to purge the more puritanical and hawkish elements of the faith, promoting instead the protective and welcoming aspects of the Flame. This split the great nation in two, those who followed their Archon and her radical beliefs, and those who rejected her and adhered to tradition. With Jezebel's passing, members of each faith sought her reincarnation, adamant in their belief that the Archon spirit would choose the 'correct' interpretation. To their astonishment two Archons were found, revealing that the schism of the faith had been reflected in the deity itself. Where once there was just the Flame, now there is the Warming Flame, worshiped by those who embraced the Flame's kind and nurturing aspects, and the Searing Flame, worshiped by those who chose the Flame's destructive and vengeful elements
A Sarnovum expedition, led there by newly excavated Sarkhani relics, rediscover the Rana Archipelago, leading to many major powers scrambling to settle this "new" land.
