Bretteaseon
Bretteaseon is the second largest district within Aflington Province. Tiborg lays to its north, with Toffirus to its west. Paglary Province is on its eastern border and Oscos Province is on its southern border, separated by the Baintham River.
Assets
Bretteaseon is home to a number of mines that produce several different minerals. Copper and tin are mined near the Dark Range in the southern part of the district while the Collapsing Hillside has long produced silver. Mines located east of the Harmond Timberland produce silver and limited amounts of coal, which is then used in steel manufacture.
The coastal towns of Ravenwallow and Oceanmeadow, both located on the Trirose Cove, are major shipping points. Their ports are often the go-to transit points for goods bound for or coming from Paglary Province or Oscos Province, due to their ease of navigation. Ship building abounds in these cities, and many of the neighboring towns were set up to provide resources to support that industry.
The district also supports a number of currently occupied castles and forts, including coastal defenses and several in-land bastions, such as the castle in Elderburgh.
History
The district known as Bretteaseon was one of the earliest settled areas by the Tuvocan Empire, having been settled shortly after the founding of Sunhall. Early settlers were forced to contend with various nomadic bands of humans, dwarven prospectors, and elven explorers.
The sudden and violent collapse of the Phasnosh Civilization several thousand years earlier left ruins dotting the landscape. The populace was left to wander the world, and eventually the history and majesty of their forefathers was lost. As the early Tuvocans spread into the area, many of these groups - what the Tuvocans collectively called Phasns - were incorporated into the growing empire. Those that didn't were either forced to relocate or were exterminated.
Agriculture & Industry
Bretteaseon is home to a multitude of industries, including shipbuilding, forestry, and mining. The Harmond Timberland and the Huntcastle Woodland provide the majority of the timber used in construction and shipbuilding in the district, and a number of towns have sprung up around these vast tracts of forest.
