Jagged Rock

The Jagged Rock is a serious place for unserious people. Less easily located than the massive Merry Meats and Mead, the Jagged Rock sits about a 5 minute walk outside the city center to the south, down the mountainside a bit, right near the heart of industry in Basafield. The pub sits in the mountain, carved out of and into the stone itself with nary a window in sight but can be found by looking for the massive spiked overhang the juts over the front entrance. The interior is far less cold than one would expect however, and is often host to all kinds of people - big or small, local or foreign. Whether it be games, gambling, music, or brawls - something is always happening at the Jagged Rock. It is to some an acquired taste; Hard to love, but filled with good people. For those tired of the same old or who want a change of pace. The pub itself is mid-sized. The dining hall can host about 50 guests comfortably- any more than that and you'd be sharing seats with a stranger. The Jagged Rock’s signature feature is its “Echo Wall.” Carved deep into the mountain’s stone, a section of the bar known as the "Echo Wall" amplifies sound in strange and unpredictable ways. A whispered conversation may bounce back to the wrong ear, while a bard’s song sung near the wall might transform into a hauntingly beautiful harmony. Regulars use it for games, daring each other to speak secrets aloud and see who hears them first, but Harley warns newcomers not to trifle too much—some sounds, he claims, don’t come back quite the same.
