The Umbral Chasm

This great void in the landscape of The Underdeep is just as awe inspiring as it is mysterious. The Chasm acts as a natural barrier between the Free Peoples of The Underdeep and the Dwarves of Makkaam. None traverse this treacherous landmark for several reasons. Within the Umbral Chasm lies a slowly drifting mist-like energy that conceals the chasm floor and those who have entered have never returned, supposedly lost or killed by whatever calls this terrifyingly beautiful place home.
