Lemon City Settlement in Miami By Night | World Anvil

Lemon City

Also known as Little Haiti, Lemon City is characterized by the Victorian architecture found in parts of the Caribbean.    Little Haiti is a known neighborhood of Haitian exiles. The area is characterized by its French–Creole designations, with its street life, restaurants, art galleries, dance, music, theatre performances, family owned enterprises, and other cultural activities.   Steeped in the complex and rich cultural histories of Caribbean immigrants who brought life to its area, Little Haiti has evolved into a colorful beacon in Miami’s arts communities. Throughout the years, small businesses like celebrated record stores, kitsch bars, and authentic eateries have eased into the neighborhood, creating their own particular patchwork within the already distinct Little River and newly named Little Haiti.   Brujah and Nosferatu find their homes amongst the nooks and crannies of the vibrant, but still painfully underfunded, neighborhood. The Brujah find this area rife with social causes to back, and the Nosferatu enjoy the privacy of the undiscovered hidden places within the neighborhood.   Piskie and slaugh also find their homes here - for many of the same reasons as their vampiric neighbors. Piskies thrive off the social buzz, though they are far more interested in the pranks they can pull than any sort of cause. The slaugh enjoy the privacy of the shadows, the same as the Nosferatu, and find plenty of places to hide away in this neighborhood.
