Sagan P. Barnard
Sagan Pietro Barnard (2215-2303) was a human engineer and diplomat, sometimes called "humanity's first xenoanthropologist". He is most known for his role in the first contact between humans and intelligent alien life in 2242.

Barnard was assigned the position of SETI officer on the human starship Eagle, the second interstellar ship built by humans which encountered an EDF ship during its second voyage. While the SETI officer position had mostly been established due to demands from the general public, Barnard successfully managed to decode the standard initial contact signal and establish communication. The first contact almost ended in disaster as members of a predecessor of the modern human supremacy movement attempted to fire debris avoidance weaponry at the EDF ship. However, Barnard was able to explain the situation and prevent a counterattack from the ship.
Later, he would go on to be a part of negotiation teams during the UDSA accession process for human society and part of the first delegation of humans in the UDSA general assembly.
