The seventh born of the Blythe Ash line and Jay's brother. Keanu means cool mountain breeze and Leverett means young hare. Being the second youngest he is still a literal child and doesn’t understand politics. He does understand that his mom is always busy and doesn’t seem to have any time to spend with him and that all his older siblings seem to yell at each other all the time and be mad and grumpy too. He doesn’t like it. He doesn’t like all the fighting. But he doesn’t like the tense silences either that somehow feel just as loud. He doesn’t like the way Siran manipulates him, tricks him into getting mad at something or someone for something they didn’t do. He doesn’t like how Siran pretends to be hurt and cries and wails when he snaps at her for breaking his things getting him in trouble even though he didn’t touch her. He doesn’t like the way Siran smiles when Cashlin and Nimrah both leave the living room bruised and bleeding after mom and dad finally get them off of each other. He doesn’t want to hate his sister. He wants to be proud of his family. He wants to be like the other kids at school and say with his whole chest that his family are the greatest. But he can’t. And that fills him with guilt. But as he stays late at school hanging out in the library to avoid going home, reading history books, the guilt shifts from one source to another as he learns exactly what it means to come from the Blythe Ash lineage. After that the guilt stopped being about hurting his family's feelings and instead contemplating whether or not he should feel guilty for existing in the first place. After all, how many children were killed by his own blood at a younger age for the crime of being born different?
