Three Hunters

The Three Hunters are the final remnants of a druidic cult that inhabited The Bone Forest prior to the Starvation. Once darkness fell on Maverot, what happened to the rest of the druids is unknown, but what is certain is that these three rule the choking underbrush of the Bone Forest without any opposition.   Composed of Hawk, Hound, and Croc, the group is usually referenced together since few have any personal knowledge of any one of the hunters. Though wildly violent and condescending toward any outsiders, the hunters seem to get along surprisingly well with one another. Despite each having a fondness for tormenting the others, none take any outrageous offense even when seriously injured. In fact, some speculate mutual shows of strength and endurance help keep their relationships cordial.   Regardless of being loosely considered a unified group, the Three Hunters cannot be bargained with as such and can scarcely be bargained with individually. Consequently the only normal trading that takes place with the three is among the cannibal tribes to the northwest, who worship the hunters as deities. The Trade Guild avoids the region as best as possible but caravans traveling near the Bone Forest's edge always keep items on hand that have been known to secure safe passage in the past.   The Bone Forest is too far from the High Plains Estate to have much interaction with the Mask Collector or his guests, but the forest runs right to the edge of the Chronicle Inn. There the hunters wastefully use their Memory of Light to illuminate crude and vulgar drawings they make on the fence erected to separate the inn and town from the forest, infuriating the Chronicle Proprietress. Though the hunters could easily tear the fence down, they much prefer leaving their disgusting "artwork" on it and mocking and tormenting those sent to clean it.
