The Divine Lavaliere
"Several have claimed to own the lavaliere and some have even shown it off in public, but nobody has ever kept it for more than a decade or so. It always seems to wander off and often leaves its previous owners worse for wear."The Divine Lavaliere is a legendary piece of jewelry that was supposedly crafted during the close of the Serene era for High Queen Vumeya as preparation for her attempt at apotheosis. Historians and magical scholars disagree on the significance of the lavaliere but it is widely believed to be immensely powerful, granting its wearer powers from flight to invisibility to immortality.
History
The Lavaliere was said to have been created for Vumeya as part of her attempt at apotheosis. It is commonly believed that she lost the lavaliere before her death and some even believe that it was the loss of the lavaliere that allowed her to be defeated at all. It would be another century and a half before the lavaliere would turn up again, though several scholars are skeptical of whether this lavaliere was the same one crafted for Vumeya. The lavaliere first reemerged in the Asimapa region in the 140s LE. The lavaliere was the cause of several tribal feuds before abruptly vanishing from historical records until 214 when a Raski warlord claimed he had discovered it. This declaration prompted the Lakuye to attempt a conquest of taamBia to attempt to capture the lavaliere and keep it out of human hands. Though the siege was brutal, the Raski forces prevailed and the Lakuye were driven back to the desert. Two years after the siege, the warlord was found murdered and the lavaliere had disappeared again. The Lavaliere would briefly re-emerge in 271 on the eve of the Freehold's Rebellion where it was briefly possessed by Kadok 'the Mad' before inexplicably vanishing after just two weeks. The lavaliere has had numerous claimed sightings since its appearance in 271 but none are regarded as historical fact. The lavaliere's current location remains a mystery.
