The Mausoleum of Karoch Vol

Karoch Vol was a mighty seer and wizard who saved the town of Kruslav from disaster many times. Under his guidance, the city prospered and grew. Although he spent much of his time in Kruslav, he built his sanctuary into the earth a little over a day's travel east of the city. As he grew older, he spent more and more time there, sometimes not emerging from weeks on end as he had it slowly prepared to become his resting place. One day, as an old and much honoured man, he gathered the townsfolk to hear him give one final prophecy. He warned of a looming shadow that threatened to engulf Kruslav. It would be forewarned by the eruption of a nearby volcano. When that happened, he declared, the town would need to send a band of mighty adventurers into his tomb to retrieve a mirror, a relic of great power. The heroes would be tested, but if they were resolute and capable, they would succeed in delving into the depths of the earth where it could be found. When they had done that, they would need to take it into his burial chamber, look into it, and speak the words,
'Karoch Vol, Effundo!'
This alone would be how the town could be saved.
With that, he walked away and descended one final time into his lair.
