Wigand von Bischoffsbaum
Winifred's uncle, “a bandit with a castle”. He is about a dozen years older than Winifred. He successfully negotiated a deal with Sigisar to release Winifred into his care. On the way home, his train was attacked by bandits, and he appeared to be killed, or severely injured. Winifred then joined up with Reinhard, who took her to her home castle.
Some time later, she sent a messenger to Brillig to invite her uncle to Schloss Hirschenwald. On the Great Day, he appeared, apparently alive and hale. Winifred solicited his input on whom he should marry, and Wigand recommended Reinhard, whom he apparently knows well. He implied that it was her duty to do so. He also confirmed that Reinhard was of quite exalted pedigree (though he did not specify).
His estate is located about a day's travel northwest by carriage from Schloss Horstkopf.
