Brillig
Brillig is effectively the capital of the Markgraf von Horstkopf holdings. It is a town of roughly 2600 souls.
The town specializes in weapon making, silversmithing, weaving, and textiles. Its eastern district was an important node on the fur route from the east.
In recent times, however, the city has lost many of its people to the Plague - perhaps up to a third. Its power structures, in the form of oligarchs who invested in the above trades, is shaken. Many of the common people have turned to the Flagellants to help them make sense of the disaster, and these parade up and down the city streets during the day, calling on all to repent while they whip themselves. Common laborers seem to also have turned to the followers of a certain Matilda, a reputed sorceress with the power to change her shape. These two groups are vying for the control of the town, while the old elites struggle to hold on.
At the center of town, Schloss Herbstfroh still recognizes the suzerainty of the House Horstkopf. It welcomed [Sigisar after his arrival, and is allowing him and his companions to stay on its grounds.
