Gernot
Gernot is Edmon's cousin. Unlike Edmon and his father, who had left Brillig to serve the Markgrave, Gernot and his family stayed behind, only to experience the Plague and the Totentanz up close. Gernot's family perished, and he was left without a source of support. When he learned that his cousin had returned to town as part of the Margrave's son's retinue, he sought him out and begged for aid. Edmon gave Gernot five marks, for which the latter was very grateful.
