Brimir

Brimir is the dwarf elder of the Wunschau Zwerghof. He claims to be a scholar, though it is clear that he is quite involved in various business dealings around town, and with the ruling margrave as well. There are probably more than a dozen dwarfs who reside at the compound, and they seem to defer to Brimir in all key matters.
Brimir is a shrewd negotiator, and knows not to give away something for nothing. When pressed to give a statement about dwarf involvement or non-involvement in causing the Plague and poisoning wells, he dismissed the claim as groundless rumors meant to scapegoat his people. He also insisted on a piecemeal exchange of information to build trust, and, since the party came to him, made them tell him what they know first. He did seem to be well aware of their prior activities. Brimir allowed his associate Alviss to be hired to check the basement of the Sacristy of St. Beatus for possible secret tunnels, but refused to allow his people to get involved in the party's monster hunt after an Erdstall had been discovered there. Subsequently, he did tell the party members that such structures were built by his people around a millennium ago, possibly for religious reasons, possibly as a shelter against invaders or an earlier pestilence. He also said that it's likely that other such structures exist near the town, or in the surrounding area. He did ask party members not to reveal any information about the dwarf skeletons found in the tunnels to outsiders. Some tentative talks regarding establishing a partnership for distributing the aqua vitae distilled by Cilly 'Wechselbalg' was also broached. Brimir does not trust the members of the town Rat, and seems to have a particularly bad relationship with Helga - the Captain of the City Watch.
Brimir as a wizened, ancient dwarf, though his true age is unknown. He wears spectacles on his nose - a quite rare contraption in Markwald - and a skullcap on his head He is quite corpulent, has deep-set eyes, a bushy mustache and braided beard, and three visible scars on his forehead.
