Lothin Diarchy

The Lothin Diarchy was a gnomish nation of the Ulgoine Valley  during the Age of Heroism.  The nation was based out of The Orods  which gained their name from the gnomes.  The gnomes established a trade route through the southern Orods with the construction of the Runol Pass.  The pass connected the lowland forests and jungles of the eastern Everstorm shores with the interior highlands of the upper Ulgoine.
Despite remaining with drawn from the politics of the Ulgoine Valley, the Diarchy found itself the target of multiple atrocities by the end of the Age of Heroism.  In 883 AH, an entire neighborhood in the northern community was destroyed during a completed cult ritual that a band of heroes failed to stop.  In 917 AH, the Fated Order ransacked the southern community before making their way into the valley.  The Lothin Diarchy's participation in the Fields of Ichor (973 AH) left so few gnomes by the end of the age that the remainders fled as refugees to Kag Bhurim  and eventually moved on to New Derth. Despite their history back to the Diarchy, most gnomes of New Derth don't consider close ties to it.  In their minds, the gnomes of Lacington are the true heirs of the Diarchy.  Lacington had started as an attempted western market and nudge towards  greater political ties before the Fields of Ichor occured.  After the tragedy, the peoples were financially and socially cut off.  The wonderous and splendorous idealogy of the Diarchy went with the new colony before it was crushed in the demon war.
