Kag Bhurim

Kag Bhurim was one of the ancestral nations of Dwarves within the Storm Broken Lands. The kingdom was based out of the Ulgoine Valley and the western Immreth Mountains. The center of the civilization was the within a mountain called Thjoldmondr (dwarven for "The People's Land"). The dwarves also occupied a collection of communities amoung adjacent mountains and the farmlands and hills to the south of their controlled mountain range.
Dul Kag, the capitol of Kag Bhurim that filled the interior of Thjoldmondr, became a trade center for not only the valley but a destination for the whole Storm Broken Lands. The valley-level doors to Dul Kag led into a series of markets and performance craftmanship that became known as Allmeet. The Age of Heroism was the golden age for dwarven glory among the Storm Broken Land's Deep Cavern Dwarves. This would end with the Fields of Ichor in 973 AH
The dwarves of Kag Bhurim joined the ranks of gathered soldiers to push back against the demon hordes. Due to the hardier nature of the folk, fewer of Kag Bhurim's citizens fell to the toxins and mutations of the abyssal hordes. At the end of the war, Kag Bhurim welcomed in the remnants of the Lothin Diarchy gnomes. After Tersule's collapse was finalized, the dwarves foresaw the end of their golden age. As monstrous folk began to overtake the lost territory of the humans, the dwarves of Kag Bhurim relinquished their outer territories. The capitol of Dul Kag could accommodate the remaining citizens with only minor needs to expand the city. The doors to Allmeet were closed for trade at the end of the Age of Heroism.

When news came of dwarves from across the Ocean of Aber moving into The Chisel Peaks, the dwarves of Dul Kag grew restless. After five centuries bundled into Thjoldmondr, many sought the glories that their parents and grandparents had spoken of. Two Generations had grown up within the mountain. While the establishment of New Derth had been meant as a new start for the eastern Storm Broken Lands, many dwarves of Dul Kag saw it as a new start for them in particular. In a time of political tumult, over 60% of the dwarves of Kag Bhurim formed an exodus of the ancestral lands in a march down to Chisel Peaks to start anew. The Exodus occurred in 48 AC and was lead by Sidmeabo Belloword, Priest of Moradin.
After the Exodus occurred, the royal family decided that Dul Kag would remain as it was, never to open to the world again. The Daleview doors were collapsed and Dul Kag was essentially shut off from the world. While they would still take in pilgrims capable of making the journey to Thjoldmondr's peak, this barrier to entry was as good as closed ports and barred gates.
Due to the harsh nature of the exodus, few dwarves spoke of homeland publicly once they got to New Derth. The first and second generations of dwarves would learn about Kag Bhurim at home from parent's contextualizing lessons. The third and forth generation would really only hear a spare, nostalgic tale from a grandparent. On the whole, the dwarves of the exodus worked to make New Derth their families legacies. By the 7th and 8th centuries of New Derth's history, Kag Bhurim was left as a relic for historians to study and the priests to remember.
