The Panpipes of Glazed Ice Myth in Magmoia | World Anvil

The Panpipes of Glazed Ice

Large Dwarven exploration/expedition left the frozen realm of Worheim sometime in the year of {Need Year} in the hopes of regaining a lost artifact.   The artifact lost by a member of the ancient coven of shards: Throssumora   What was the artifact: An instrument {Lur or a PanPipe} that Throssumora enjoyed playing that was said to bring about a blanket of frozen fog around the one that played it.   Why did Throssumora enjoy playing this Instrument? She enjoyed disappearing into the cold clouds of frost as a means of meditation that allowed her to think about the troubles of the world honestly.   If ever angered, Throssumora would play the Instrument and make a massive winter storm that would ravage wherever it landed.       After the first meteor strike that hit the planet of Magmoia, the Ancient Coven of Shards had met for only the second time since arriving on the planet and discussed what would be done about this new danger. {The Meteor had struck in the northern ocean, but as it fell some small shards landed causing havoc on the planet.}   In the realm of Zurrican, a small shard of the meteor had struck in a Remoshe Nest, causing the massive predator to change drastically in appearance and temperament. The coven had sent Throssumora among a few others to check out the beast and slay it before it was able to cause any more harm. During the altercation, that ensued Throssumora had lost her Instrument as the creature swung at her cutting it loose from her side, and the Instrument tumbled down a cliff and was never seen by her again.   Many years later, as Throssumora had returned to Worheim and sat atop her frozen mountain, many of the Dwarves who seek her council had noticed her change in attitude and that she no longer played her Instrument that so famously would cloud the mountain top in freezing clouds and white snow. Once word went out that she had lost it in battle with a beast in the land of Zurrican, a large expedition group was set up by {Name of Dwarf who set up the expedition} to go and retrieve their beloved Throssumora instrument.    The expedition and search for the relic was a much more lengthy process than previously believed and as the years passed the dwarves began creating a new settlement for themselves that eventually turned into a new kingdom and alliance for the dwarves as the Ukari to the North were in dire need of an ally.    The dwarves had set up their new kingdom in the southern reaches of Zurrican as they had received reports of oddly cold weather emanating from that southern region.
