The arrival of Death in Maerl as a result of the actions of Gaer began the winnowing.

Depiction

The Death Rune is conventionally depicted by the sword blade created and weilded by Gaer.

Associations

The Death Rune is closely associated with the Maker Rune and twinned with the Birth Rune.
Despite the popular perception, the Birth and Death are not antiethical to each other but complementatry in the cycles of the world.
